Q: A studio credit was given to a customer, but now they want a refund. Is it possible to convert the gift certificate credit to a credit card refund?
Once a registration is processed as a “refund” – even as a studio credit – it can’t be processed for another refund.
Here is a recommendation:
Find that gift certificate under Store > Events > Gift Certificate and then delete it by going to More Options > Delete Gift Certificate.
Now you will have to refund it directly through merchant account.
This would eliminate the outstanding credit (in the form of a Gift Certificate) and give the credit back to the credit card, balancing the accounting side.
