What is an RSS feed?
A feed created by the site itself to present the titles of its publications. These feeds are in XML code and are not intended to be elegant.
You can see that content is structured as a beacon. (title, description, link, etc.)
Cikisi will take care of formatting them to show you nice articles.
But if the site has RSS, Cikisi will find it!
How to use?
Resources > Sources > Create > Enter a URL and Cikisi will search for RSS feeds present on the site.
The real challenge is to +find the RSS feeds! Indeed, many sites offer them, but not all are +visible.
To find them, we suggest +**three techniques:
Look for the icon
Go to the home page of the site you want to insert and look for the RSS icon:
Click on it and insert it into the platform (copy/paste).
Modify the URL
Go to the home page of the target site and change the URL.
After the domain name, add the phrase “RSS” or “FEED”.
Example: La ferme digitale (trade press)
Home page: https://www.lafermedigitale.fr
Add “rss” or “feed”: https://www.lafermedigitale.fr/feed/
And you’ll find the RSS feed.
h2. The code doesn’t lie!
- Go to the +home page of your site.
- Press F12 or right-click anywhere on the page, then “Show source code”.
- This takes you to the page’s HTML code
- Press CTRL + F and a tool will appear to help you find words on the page
- Search for the words “feed” or “RSS”.
Paste the feed URL link into Cikisi :)
