If a staff member joins the Secretariat under a temporary appointment, separates from his/her temporary appointment, and is reappointed under fixed-term appointment the following day, his/her EODs will be the date of his latest appointment. EODs are not carried over between temporary and fixed-term appointment.
Example: a staff member joins the Secretariat under a temporary appointment on 9 September 2018, separates from his/her temporary appointment on 31 December 2018, and is reappointed under fixed-term appointment effective 1 January 2019, his/her EODs will be:
- EOD UN Common System: 01/01/2019
- EOD UN Secretariat: 01/01/2019
