PC Viewer (RVI.EXE)

For the purpose of the IBMi manual we will discuss only the RVI PC viewer (RVI.EXE). For customers desiring a browser based option, refer to the OneLook (IBMi/Cloud) manual.

Starting the RVI PC Viewer

To start the RVI PC Viewer with the IBM i Host System, first start the IBM i Host System session, then open the RVI PC Viewer. The PC Viewer will try to automatically connect to the Host System session. When this is accomplished, the PC Viewer window below will appear, and the status will indicate Connected:. RVI can support imaging from several IBM i Host System sessions.

For user convenience, the imaging system offers the use of the Toolbar, Menu Bar, Status Bar and Quick Keys to accomplish the tasks associated with the imaging system set up and operation.

All the system settings will be saved when the imaging system is exited.
