Barcode Scanning

!Barcode scanning requires a Kofax VRS AIPE license. RVI does not sell or license Kofax VRS. For information on Kofax VRS, contact Kofax support or a Kofax reseller.

• Under Image/Preferences/Scanner Support, enable Load Kofax Scanners
• Select a Default Scanner with AIPE

For quality control, review the barcode recognition results prior to uploading the images to the IBM i Host System.

If *NONE is found in the index field, this indicates that no bar code value was recognized for that page.

This would be correct if scanning multiple pages associated with one bar code and it would be incorrect if scanning single pages, each with a bar code. All pages without a bar code value, *NONE, will go to a batch hopper for individual indexing unless they are indexed prior to uploading. Based on the IBM i Host System program call for the bar code scanning operation, the user should verify bar code scanning results to determine if *NONE is a missed bar code value or part of a multi-page grouping.

When using PC Control Scanning, the barcode values can be reviewed directly in the scan process display. Enable Update Index Values to make changes to the barcode recognition results.

When using Host Control Scanning, the barcode values can be reviewed by clicking the BC/OCR button. Select Bar Code/OCR Indexes to see the scanned documents and make changes to the barcode recognition results.
