Powercraft Rosters

The rosters will be located at the LSV Roster Page. (2024/25 Rosters will be available ASAP)

IRBs are crucial to setting up the courses and providing water safety for carnivals, so it is important that all clubs meet the requirements that have been allocated to them. Clubs may swap shifts with other clubs, but they must notify LSV of the swap by close of entries for that carnival by email to sport@lsv.com.au.

Please note the use of Lifeguards to substitute club powercraft shifts is not acceptable for season 2024/25.

Set Up and Pack Down Rosters

Clubs will be required to supply 2 person for set up, and 2 person for pack up proportions of the day.

Please ensure appropriate personnel are allocated to these rosters. I.e., people who are capable of lifting boats, motors and anchors. These personnel must be on time and are required until instructed that they are dismissed by LSV or the Carnival Referee.

The morning set up personnel are required to report to the LSV Administration marquee and sign in at 6:30am SHARP unless notified by LSV in the week prior to the carnival.

At the end of a competition area being completed all athletes, volunteers, and supporters present are expected to assist with general pack down including helping to return equipment to the central area. This helps the overall tournament run efficiently and ensures that everyone can get off the beach quicker.

Set up roles will include:

  • Assist in getting the duty boats set up and onto the beach.
  • Assist in getting buoys, ropes, and anchors onto the beach and ready to be put into the water.
  • Assist getting any of the carnival equipment onto the beach, including area boxes, poles
  • Assist in setting up each competition area and first aid area including marquees, tables, and chairs
  • Assist in setting up beach competition areas including sprint and flags arenas.
  • Other duties are deemed relevant and safe by the event organising committee or safety committee.

The afternoon Pack Down personnel are required to report to the LSV administration marquee at the conclusion of the carnival, or when announced over the PA system.

Pack up roles will include:

  • Assist in getting all buoys, ropes, and anchors off the beach once packed up.
  • Assist in getting all duty boats off the beach as soon as they are ready.
  • Assist in packing up of the duty boats, running motors, and packing of the LSV gear trailer.
  • Assist in packing down each competition area and returning equipment to the LSV Trailers
  • Assist in packing up the LSV Administration area and PA System.
  • Other duties are deemed relevant and safe by the event organising committee or safety committee.

Shallow Water Rescue Team

As a part of safety measures for the 2024/2025 Season, we require that each club provide 1 volunteer who will form part of a rapid response unit for shallow water search and incident response at each carnival.

A Shallow Water Rescue Team (SWRT) shall be implemented for the duration of the carnival. Their function is to provide an immediate search and rescue capability when it has been reported that a competitor or official is missing in shallow water within the competition boundaries.

Each attending club will need to add into SportApp their volunteer/s details who meets the following criteria by the day after the close of entries:

  • 18 + Years old
  • Bronze Medallion Proficient
  • Competent in surf conditions
  • Emotionally mature to handle Search and Rescue situations
