Club Official Requirements

The priority roles to be filled for 2024/25 carnival season will be first aid, powercraft, and water safety first, and then all other officials.
— If these roles are not adequately fulfilled prior to the agreed upon deadline, then the carnival will not be able to proceed safely, resulting in the potential for an amended program and/or the cancellation of select events, age groups, or the carnival as a whole.

Please note the following key points for your club’s officials:

  • All officials must attend the Officials’ Briefing and report to their Area Referee to sign on and be assigned a role at least 30mins before the carnival commences.
  • Official allocations will be determined by the Area Referee on the day, or prior to.
  • LSV reserves the right to reassign officials’ roles when deemed necessary.
  • Club official ratios are based on the number of competitors entered – Clubs should be mindful that official requirements will not change if competitors do not attend the competition as officials will be pre-allocated positions prior to the carnival
  • Clubs can arrange for substitute officials from other Clubs to sign-on on their behalf provided these officials have not signed on as part of another Club’s Officials’ requirements.
  • We encourage Team Managers to assign club volunteers to all areas and not focus on one particular age group.
  • Officials duties are for the entire carnival unless a replacement has been organised.
