All recovery literature that is published for S-Anon members is subject to the Conference Approval process. “Conference Approval” is a process that ensures recovery material developed for S-Anon reflects the group conscience of the S-Anon fellowship. The CAL process assures us that a piece of literature formally represents the S-Anon experience. The only exceptions are flyers announcing local recovery events, service-oriented materials compiled by a local group or Information Services body that relate to local events, and Service Literature. Service literature has a different process, and may or may not go through the Literature Committee. Any S-Anon member can submit ideas for Service Literature. For a clarification on the difference between recovery literature and service literature, see Part 5 of this manual, updated policies in the Appendices.
