Although Amazon.com may be used for District purchases, it first requires approval from the Business office. To receive approval please submit a request to the BOSC (Business Office Support Center). In most cases, if items can be purchased from another vendor, the request will not be approved. The following is how to make a purchase with Amazon.

Please note that MHRD does not receive the benefits of a Prime Membership, in most instances free shipping is not available to us. Please use actual shipping costs for all items or a 10% shipping estimate

  • Visit Amazon.Com and create an account using your MHRD email address
  • Create a Shopping List and name it using your first initial last name. If you need to enter multiple lists for different staff members add the last name of the staff member at your first initial. Example: DSEMER/AURICCHIO
  • Mark your Shopping List as public so that the Business Office can retrieve it
  • Add items to your Shopping List
  • Submit a request to the BOSC (Business Office Support Center) for approval providing the following:
    • A direct link to the public shopping list you created
    • Rationale (why it has to be purchased through Amazon)
  • Once approved through the BOSC, create a requisition in Alio for this purchase. Select vendor # 256, Amazon.com
  • You are required to enter the name of the Shopping List in the PO field under special instructions
  • Include a 10% line item for estimated shipping or the actual shipping, if known
  • Finalize the requisition
  • Once approved it will become a purchase order and will be processed by the Business Office accordingly
