To understand how importing and synchronizing departments works between EPC and DBP, consider the following example:

Inside the QMS environment in EPC, Corporate Headquarters is established as an organizational unit set.

  1. Child-Parent Department Import
    • Under the Corporate Headquarters set, Recruitment & Selection is listed as a child department of Human Resources.
    • For this reason, if the Recruitment & Selection department is imported using the Synchronization with EPC application, the Human Resources department will be automatically imported as well.
      • In the Organization Management module, the parent-child relationship between these two departments will be recorded, with Human Resources being set as the parent department of Recruitment & Selection.
    • Conversely, if the Employee Labor Relations department is imported, only Human Resource Compliance will be imported alongside it.
      • Despite Employee Compensation & Benefits being the parent department of Human Resource Compliance, it will not be imported.
      • In the Organization Management module, Human Resource Compliance will be linked as the parent department of Employee Labor Relations, without a listed parent department of its own.
  1. Parent-Child Department Import
    • Under the Corporate Headquarters set, two new departments are created: Employee Training & Development and Employee Performance Management.
      • If Employee Training & Development is imported, it will be imported without a parent department.
      • If Employee Performance Management is imported, Employee Training & Development will be imported alongside it as the parent department.
