5.1.1. Database

By selecting the BPMS Database checkbox/module in the Features installer, the Database Configuration form will then be displayed. This form is used to install or update the database.

*Note: Setting up a Digital Business Platform (DBP) requires a database that stores information about the design and build of the system and the operating data of the processes.

!Installing and updating this module is mandatory.

1. Connect to Existing Database: This option allows users to connect to an existing database.
   
   • If this option is selected, the installation will be performed on the DBP database in the system.

*Note: This option is the default mode when the modules have been updated.

2. Create New Database: This option allows users to create a new database.
   
   • If this option is selected and the corresponding database profile is then inputted, the DBP database will be created under the chosen name.

*Note: This option is the default mode when the modules have been installed.

3. Server: This is a text field that allows users to input the name or IP of the server where the database is/will be located.
   
4. Database Name: This is a text field that allows users to input the name of the database that they want to update or create.
   
5. DB Username and Password: These are text fields wherein the username and password of the database owner can be inputted.
   
6. Server Username and Password: These are text fields wherein the server username and password for the system administrator can be inputted.
   

*Note: This section is enabled only if the Create New Database option has been selected.

7. Check Connection: This button allows users to verify the connection to the database.
