Missing Person in Water

All flights must be conducted in a safe manner.

The Drone Operator should fly their UAV to the last known location of the person and begin one of the search patterns.

If the search becomes protracted, an Ops Support or Lifeguard UAV may be dispatched. This asset will take priority. The Club Drone Operator should work support this asset.

A missing person in the water will most likely involve helicopters involvement, either from SLSQ or another agency. Club Drones should be grounded as soon as the operator is aware of a helicopter being tasked. The Duty Officer/Incident Commander will provide further advice.
