In order to simplify the deployment of PriApps to DEVELOP ineo MFPs, PriApps has created a configuration application, Konica Minolta Embedded for Print Manager.
This application is one of the components installed during the initial PriApps setup. It can be found in the following folder on the PriApps Application Server:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PriApps\PriApps Print\addins\Konica\PriApps Konica Minolta Embedded 2.0.0.0.zip
Run the Windows Installer Package within the zip file – PriApps Konica Minolta Embedded 2.0.0.0.msi
This will install the Configuration application within the PriApps directory on the PriApps Application Server and create a shortcut on the desktop. You can now use the app to configure PriApps on your DEVELOP ineo MFPs.
Configuration Settings
Communication Settings
It is advisable to use the default port values unless the ports are already in use. Port and IP address settings are applied to the PriApps MFP application during installation and therefore should not be changed once the application has been deployed to the DEVELOP ineo MFPs.
Language Settings
Select the appropriate language for your installation.
PriApps Server Settings
Enter the IP address for the PriApps Application Server and the port number for communication.
OpenAPI Server Settings
The OpenAPI Server is the IIS (Internet Information Services) Web application host. Enter the IP address of the IIS Web server (which should ideally be the same as the PriApps Aplication Server). These settings need to be finalized prior to installing the PriApps MFP application(s) to IIS.
Please refer to the IIS configuration section of this documentation.
QR Code Authentication Settings
Select this option if you want to enable QR Code authentication with a PriApps mobile app.
Applications
The PriApps MFP application is required to communicate with both the PriApps Application Server and the IIS Web application once they have been deployed to each device. It is advisable to utilize the default port settings unless they are already in use. These settings should not be changed once applications have been deployed to DEVELOP ineo MFPs.
Authentication Settings
Enter the OpenAPI authentication port number for communication with the DEVELOP ineo MFPs.
Select the Login/Logout confirmations to diaplay to the user on the DEVELOP ineo MFP
PullPrint Settings
Enter the OpenAPI pullprint port number for communication with the DEVELOP ineo MFPs.
Device Search Protocol Settings
It is possible to search the network for devices based on IP address ranges or the subnet the PriApps Application Server resides on.
Search Protocol Selection
There are three methods of searching for devices across the network:
- UPnP (Universal Plug and Play)
- SNMP Ping
- SNMP Broadcast
The SNMP methods support both version 1 and version 3. UPnP requires no configuration but will only search across the subnet from where the search is instigated.
SNMP Ping
SNMP Ping is a more powerful search allowing the IP search range to be specified. However, this method is non-specific i.e. it will return DEVELOP ineo MFP addresses and the addresses of other, non-DEVELOP devices, so care must be taken when specifying IP address ranges and selecting devices for deployment.
SNMP Broadcast
SNMP Broadcast allows for the searching of subnets for devices by specifying the broadcast address range. This, like SNMP Ping, may return non-DEVELOP device addresses.
OpenAPI Settings
The OpenAPI settings below are to enable Single Sign-On (SSO) to the device and instruct the MFP how to deal with unauthenticated print jobs.
Card Reader Settings
Card Reader Output Settings
If USB card readers are being used to authenticate, the output settings for the device must also be specified. If Konica Minolta USB readers are in use on any DEVELOP ineo MFPs, information must be supplied for reading the card output for authentication.
Pricing
The DEVELOP ineo MFP charges a user for different document output types and document finishing. The user’s balance is given to the bizhub during a user login and this balance is then subtracted from based on the charging/pricing structure defined here.
General Settings
The Currency text selected will display against the users balance on the DEVELOP ineo MFP. If no currency display is required, set the value to ‘None’. The decimal places setting defines the accuracy of the charge subtraction, and the balance will also display to the value set here. Valid values are 0–4.
Page Size Multipliers
Page size multipliers apply the following multiplication between the Print and Copy (Pricing Base), number of pages and the size of pages and type of pages output. A4/Letter is assumed as the base size so that retains a multiplier of 1.00 and any sizes above or below are applied as per these settings.
Print and Copy (Pricing Base)
Set the print and copy output pricing according to a base size of A4/Letter.
Finishing (Pricing Base)
Document finishing options can also be charged and is applied once to the job is completed.
Fax Charges
Enter the charges for each fax quality type. These charges are by output page and higher quality selected takes longer to transmit.
Device Management
Device Searching
Device searching is necessary to locate the DEVELOP ineo MFPs across your network. Once the DEVELOP ineo MFPs have been found, they can be selected to receive and run the PriApps MFP applications.
Click the Search Devices button.
This will invoke a network search for devices based on the search method specified earlier under the Search Protocol section.
Once the search has been invoked the following screen will be displayed indicating the search is in progress:
Add Device
There is also an option to add DEVELOP ineo MFPs individually by clicking the Add Device button. Enter the IP address of the bizhub into the IP address box and press Tab.
The DEVELOP ineo MFP will then be queried at the IP address specified.
Device Found
Either searching or adding a DEVELOP ineo MFP, if successful, will result in the DEVELOP ineo MFP details / settings being returned to the application, shown below. The result will also display the SSL status. This needs to have an SSL status of enabled. If this status is not enabled, please review the DEVELOP ineo MFP configuration.
Applying Changes
To invoke some action on a DEVELOP ineo MFP, select the checkbox displayed in the grid shown below. The status of the DEVELOP ineo MFP will depend on the action pending. If the DEVELOP ineo MFP has no applications deployed the pending state will be Deploy. If the DEVELOP ineo MFP has applications deployed the pending state will be Remove. A pending status is displayed in YELLOW.
Clicking the Apply Changes button will invoke the attempt to apply the changes.
The following screen will be displayed detailing the progress of the action:
Changes Successful
If the changes applied to the DEVELOP ineo MFPs were successful, the status will be displayed in GREEN as shown below:
Changes Failed
If the changes applied to the DEVELOP ineo MFPs were unsuccessful, the status will be displayed in RED as shown below:
Change Device Settings
There may be a need to change usernames and passwords expected by the DEVELOP ineo MFP. These must be set prior to deployment. Clicking the grid row containing the device will enable these changes to be made.
When the DEVELOP ineo MFP is selected, no other actions can be made. The changes to the DEVELOP ineo MFP must either be saved or cancelled by clicking either the Save Device or Cancel Device button. No further actions can occur until the device is cancelled or saved.
Delete Device
A DEVELOP ineo MFP can be deleted by selecting it as above and clicking the Delete Device button.
Service Control
Service control displays the current status of the service and allows the Starting and Stopping of the listening services.
