Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Content Clarifications

VOC content of wet-applied products must meet established standards specified below in order to comply with I12 – Responsible Materials. In addition, projects pursuing I10 – Healthy Interior Performance must meet thresholds for VOC emissions of wet-applied products (refer to clarification Evaluation of Products with the Potential VOC Emissions in I10).

Wet-applied products (including paint and other coatings, adhesives, and sealants) applied on site must have VOC levels below the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rule 1168 for Adhesives and Sealants (as amended November 4, 2022) or CARB 2007 Suggested Control Measure (SCM) for Architectural Coatings Table 1, as applicable.
