Whenever you choose a destination, and a route is calculated in the planner (even if navigation hasn’t started), the app remembers it and lets you quickly select that destination again later. When you tap the search bar, you’ll see this recent history displayed below. If your searched expression matches a recent location, it is also proposed among first results.
