Unpublishing objects is now possible with a single click of a button. In the details page of a published object, the button “Unpublish” will instantly withdraw any published version and put the object back in draft status. This feature allows users with Write rights to efficiently manage the content that is being displayed to other users.
To access this feature, please follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the details page of a published object and select the “Tools” dropdown. Click “Unpublish”.
2. The object will withdraw any published version and put the object back in draft status. Once the object is unpublished, it acts exactly as an “In Progress” version object. Users can also unpublish an object that is “In Progress” and that has published versions.
Users with the right security settings will be able to see and edit the object as they wish. In the Version Status, only this Version will be marked as Unpublished.
Users in the “Published Only” mode won’t be able to see the object.
Republish
If or when the object is ready to be republished:
1. Click on the “Publish” button.
2. Users will be prompted to choose to republish the object as a Major, Minor or Same Version. When ready, click Publish.
3. For the needs of this example, we chose to keep the same version. The object will be republished.
