12.1.2.1.1.25. Search Panel

The search panel control enables users to quickly and easily filter through a list of items based on specific criteria, helping them find the information they need in an efficient manner.

!When creating a form to contain the search panel control, users can leave the Entity field empty. For more information on this matter, click here.

When a search panel control is selected in the design environment, its associated properties are displayed in the Control Properties panel.

1. Binding: In this category, users can link a control to its corresponding attribute and define its binding properties.

!Users must link the search panel control to the same attribute as the corresponding grid control. For more information on this type of attribute, click here.

2. Name: In this category, users can access basic properties required for the control’s identification and proper referencing in the code.

3. Appearance: In this category, users can customize the visual appearance of the control.
   • Filter Text: This field allows users to customize the text displayed inside the Filter button in the search panel.
     • Users can change the text to better reflect the purpose of the button or to display the text in a different language.

     • Filter Text Preview: Web View

       **If this field is left blank, the default text ‘Filter’ will be displayed.

   • Reset Text: This field allows users to customize the text displayed inside the Clear Filter button in the search panel.
     • Users can change the text to better reflect the purpose of the button or to display the text in a different language.

     • Reset Text Preview: Web View

       **If this field is left blank, the default text ‘Clear Filter’ will be displayed.

   • Tooltip: This field allows users to input a tooltip for the control.
     • Users can customize the control tooltip in multiple languages.
       

       **Users can determine which languages are available for use in the Settings of the Designer. Currently, however, only five languages are supported on the web server: English, French, German, Arabic, and Hebrew.

     • In the web application, the tooltip is represented by the tooltip icon ( ) next to the control.

     • Search Panel Tooltip Preview: Web View

       **A tooltip is a brief message or description that appears when the user hovers their cursor over the tooltip icon next to the control. This feature can help to provide additional context and guidance to the user as they interact with the form or application.

4. Caption Appearance: In this category, users can customize the visual appearance of the control’s caption.

Search Panel Control Preview: Web View

• To filter results according to the entered search criteria, click on the Filter button.
• To clear the filters and see the full data set again, click on the Clear Filter button.
