Practice III is offered in the fourth year of the BSW Program. You will choose the course based on the stream that you are in:
SLWK 4497 – Social Work Practice III
OR
SLWK 4597 – Social Work Practice III: Child Intervention Practice
This advanced practicum course will offer students the opportunity to focus on either social work practice within a community context or on the enhancement of intervention skills with individuals and families. Students will work in a collaborative framework to gain a greater understanding of how to work in an interprofessional manner within the community with a goal of identifying opportunities to contribute to wellbeing.
This course consists of
- 350 Practicum hours of practice completed at an approved agency.
- Students must be registered in SLWK 4421/4521 at the same time.
- By the end of the Program as a graduate, you will have completed 775 hours (year one entry) or 700 hours (year 3 entry) of practicum.
