Integration seminars occur during the practicum term. The seminars are comprised of a group of MRUBSW students from a variety of agencies and are facilitated by full-time and part-time faculty in the role of Faculty Liaison.

These seminars provide an important opportunity for students to share their experiences, access support, and practice the skill of peer supervision.

During the Practice I term, you will attend weekly classes in addition to your practicum hours

During the Practice II term, you will attend a total of six seminars (18 hours)
Please be sure to note seminar dates into your schedule and pay close attention to the dates.

During the Practice III term, you will not attend seminar – instead you will be registered in an Advanced Practice Course that is required to be taken concurrently with your practicm*. Dedicated time for supervision will occur within the Advanced Skills class to support integration of your learning.
Please be sure to note all course dates into your schedule and pay close attention to the dates.

You are encouraged to actively participate and further develop:

  • Integration of practice activities with Social Work knowledge, values, and skills,
  • Sharing issues that arise related to Practicum,
  • Taking an active role in all learning activities.

Students absent from one seminar will have 5% deducted from their overall grade. Students missing more than one seminar would risk failing the course. If there are exceptional circumstances regarding an absence please advise your instructor immediately so the situation can be reviewed. The obligation to keep the instructor informed rests with the student.
