1) Complete Your Personal Info
Upon your first login. In the top right hand corner of the home page you can click the settings button (click on your name for drop down menu) and edit your personal info under ‘Customer Details.’ These are such things as your email addresses, bank or Paypal details, invoice address etc.. It is essential that you complete all the information in this section and keep it up to date, as otherwise it will mean we cannot contact you if needs be and there will be certain functions within the LMS that will not be possible to use (barcode purchase, paying statements, contact support function).
2) Complete Your Label(s) Info
Also from the top right hand corner of the LMS, click on your name and then choose ‘Labels’ from the drop down menu. Based on your contract and label form, we have already created your label name for you, but you will now need to complete the information and add all the requested information. Your label information is vital for stores and also for every release you create. Double check to see if all is correct and complete any details that are missing and upload the label logo if not there already (JPG @ 800×800 pixels).
3) Create Your Artists
No release can happen without artists, so you will need to create the artist(s) that will be on your release. Supply as much info as possible and read through the guidelines to get this correct. It is now mandatory to add Producer, Songwriter and Composer information for artists to achieve accurate royalty reporting later down the line. It is not mandatory to add artist images or links to artists (sporify, apple etc.), but if you can add any in the requested specs, then it would be good for future promo opportunities with the stores and for efficiently linking your artists to their profiles.
4) Creating Assets and Uploading Audio
Before starting with the release and track info, you will need to create an ‘Asset.’ This is essentially the track information that will be used on this new release or on future releases, such as a compilation. The first step is to ‘Upload Audio’ (click the Upload Audio button in the Asset page) and then you can drag and drop one or multiple files that you want to create assets for. Once the upload is complete (the green bar is full and tracks ticked), return to the asset page and click ‘Add Asset’, where you need to complete all the information about the track (ISRC, Track Name, Artist Name, Publishers etc.) NB: Please be sure to listen to the preview that is created once an upload is complete.
5) Creating Release
Once you have created artist, label and asset information, then you are now ready to create the release. Go to the ‘Release’ section, click on ‘Add Release’ and begin to input the info, such as release name, label name, genre, then proceed to the next page by clicking ‘Add Release’ again for the territorial restrictions and to add your release artwork.
6) Tracks
Within the release section there is a tab called ‘Select Tracks.’ Here you should add all the tracks connected to your new release and to do so, click on the green ‘Add Track’ button. This is where you add the previously connected assets by scrolling or searching through your list of assets. NB: Please remember that without any assets then the tracks cannot be created. If you do not see your asset in the list then it has not been successfully created. You can therefore ‘add asset’ and the asset window will open. Once you have saved it then return to the release page, refresh the page and the asset will appear.
7) Release Editing, Checking and Picking Dates
You have checked your release and track info and have saved your progress once all completed. You will then end up back at a page giving an overview of the release. If you have forgotten something or need to change anything, then you still have the option to do so. If you are 100% certain that everything is as you want it, then click ‘select dates’ from the top right hand corner and proceed to the next section. Once you are happy with your date selections and scheduling, you can click the ‘Submit Release’ button to complete the release and send it to your distributor.
The release is now ready to go and will be processed for delivery. You will know the release has gone when you see the tick on your content/release page has turned from red to green, please see section 10 of the manual for a further explanation of this.
