You will encounter both Raster and Vector maps within BackCountry Navigator.
The default map “BackCountry World Map (vector) is a vector topo map of the world based on OpenStreetMap data.
It is more compact in size, allowing you to download a large chunk in a quick operation.
Many maps are specific to a country, region, or state/province while some are worldwide.
In particular, popular government maps are available in a few states of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, and the UK.
However, worldwide maps may still be the best option for you.
You can always try out a few different maps for an area to find out which one has the detail you crave.
