Analyzing home made meals using Edamam
Edamam’s recipe analyzer is part of our Subscription enabled features. Premium users can analyze their home recipes and get the nutrition data of their home made dishes.
Edamam uses big ingredients and foods database to find the ingredients you’ve entered and analyze their nutrition values. Have in mind that Edamam does take in account the cooking process whether it’s boiling, frying or other, so if you enter more details about your recipe – they will be taken in mind.
The edamam recipe analyzer is located in the menu for other food sources in the food screen. When you click on the “Analyze” button, a screen with a text box opens.
In the text box you can enter your recipe, one ingredient on each line. Also you need to enter your servings size.
Here’s an example how a typical recipe can be entered in the recipe analyzer:
Type in the ingredients for Diabetic Living’s Parmesan Baked Fish recipe:
4 oz skinless salmon, 1 inch thick 1/4 cup mayonnaise 2 tbsp grated parmesan 1 tbsp green onion 1 tsp Worcestershire chicken sauce
Tap “Analyze” and see the results for a single serving. You can also save the meal as a new food for later use.
