Once a linear conveyor has been commissioned by Auto-Configuration Procedure, the ConveyLinx-ECO Module modules store configuration data about its upstream and downstream neighboring modules. This configuration data is automatically updated even if the linear conveyor has had its parameters modified by the EasyRoll software. The ConveyLinx-ECO Module firmware uses this feature to allow for easy module replacement so that the entire linear conveyor does not have to be Auto-Configured again in order to replace a single ConveyLinx-ECO Module.
Module Replacement Procedure
1. Disconnect existing module’s motor(s), network, photo-sensor(s), and power connections. The order of disconnection does not matter.
2. Connect new module’s power only. Leave motor(s), sensor(s), and network disconnected.
3. When new module is powered up and after about 5 seconds; the Status and Motor LEDs will begin to blink slowly. The module will stay in this state for 10 seconds.
4. During this 10 second time window while the Status and Motor LEDs are blinking slowly, connect the Ethernet cable(s) to the new module. The order of connection does not matter if there are two cables.
5. At the end of the 10 second time period; the new module looks to see if neighbor(s) module(s) are connected and if so, the new module will initiate the auto replacement functions with its neighbors.
6. Once all configuration data has been transferred, the Module performs its internal boot-up procedures, and when complete, the Module Status LED blinks on and off green.
7. Reconnect motor(s) and Sensor(s)
