The Morris Hills Regional District develops its annual school district budget in accordance with District Policy and Regulation 6210 and 6220 as well the District Goals and Objectives. During the month of August, The Board of Education approves a calendar that identifies budget preparation activities and timelines. The budget is prepared by Supervisors and Administrators in the fall of each year, after consultation with staff. It is presented to the Board of Education in February, the NJDOE Executive County Superintendent in March and a Public Hearing is held in April. Board Member and public comment can result in modifications. The final MHRD annual budget is submitted to the NJDOE after the Public hearing for the Executive County Superintendent’s approval. Once that approval is received, staff may begin to place supply orders for the upcoming school year.
