Software Assurance Policy

The Software Assurance Policy details the period that systems are entitled to new software

Software Assurance entitles a Hippotizer system to install and run all release version(s) of Hippotizer software released within the Software Assurance period. The timing of software releases and included feature-set are decided solely at Green Hippo’s discretion; Software Assurance in no way obligates Green Hippo to release new software or add specific functionalities.

New Hippotizer systems include 3 Years of Software Assurance pre-loaded at the factory. Software Assurance extensions may be purchased from Green Hippo or its dealers or distributors. Software Assurance extensions require a software license created by Green Hippo to be loaded onto the Hippotizer system, once the license has been updated no further action is required; applicable software will install normally.

Software Assurance only determines which new feature versions of Hippotizer software can be installed and run. Previously installed software will continue to work for the life of the Hippotizer system.

Each software version is assigned a Software Assurance Date based on either the release date or, for improvement releases, the date of the parent feature version. For example, Hippotizer Version 4.5.0 was released on the 28th of February, 2019 and has the same Software Assurance date. Hippotizer Version 4.5.1 was released in June of 2019, however it also has the Software Assurance date of 28th February, 2019 as it is an improvement release of 4.5.0. Subsequent improvement releases (4.5.2, 4.5.3 etc) will continue to use the Software Assurance date of 28-Feb-2019. The next feature release (eg. 4.6.0) will have the date of release as the Software Assurance date.
