The LED component controls the coloured Hippo head on Hippotizer V4 and V4+ hardware.

The Hippo head colour reflects the state of the worst component on that system. So if any component is showing an error, it will be red. If all components are normal it will be green.

Colour meanings and common causes

Green

  • Hippotizer is running normally

Blue

  • Media Manager is encoding or syncing content

Yellow

  • Output Manager is configuring outputs
  • The Media drive has <10% free space

Red

  • The engine has stopped rendering due to an error
  • Output Manager cannot start all viewports or outputs due to a conflict
  • There is less <3% free space on the media drive.

Purple

  • The computer is running, but the Hippotizer applications have not been started.

The LED component has a Pin: “LED_Brightness” that can be used to dim the front panel LED’s if desired.
