Autofade determines when a crossfade begins

Autofade Enabled (default)

With autofade enabled, a fade will start whenever a change to the source has been made.

Any changes to settings outside of the source will not trigger a fade. So, changing the Geometry or colour of a layer will not trigger a fade while changing the clip will.

Autofade Disabled.

Disabling autofade sets crossfade to a fully manual mode — a crossfade is stared by pressing the take button.

Use this mode to set a complete state before applying it.

Disabling autofade creates a series of new controls:

Control

In manual mode, the layer controls will affect either the hidden layer, the visible layer or both depending on the control setting.

Take

Take starts a fade. Once started, a fade cannot be reversed.

Sync

Synchronises the visible layer to the hidden layer.
