Field Trips:

We expect behavior on buses or field trips to be the same as in-school behavior.

  • Parents receive an email about each field trip with a brief description, cost, special instructions, and how to register.
  • For students to participate, parent must give permission during the online registration.
  • Students must always ride the bus to and from all CHCA sponsored events if transportation is provided.

Chaperones:

CHCA Founders’ Campus Upper Elementary defines a chaperone as an adult who accompanies and looks after student(s), providing a service for our students and/or our teachers. To be a chaperone, the individual must:

  • Have a valid and current background check on file with CHCA
  • Be a parent or legal guardian of the student
  • Be 25 years of age or older
  • Have current contact information on file in Veracross.

The Field Trip Leader will determine the number of chaperones needed for each event. Chaperones may be expected to ride the bus with the students they are responsible for looking after throughout the event. For some events family members may also attend, but will not have responsibilities with the students or teachers. If an attending family member is not a chaperone, they must plan, pay, drive separately, and refrain from interfering with the duties of the assigned chaperones.
