The Upper Elementary After School Eagle’s Zone (EZ) is designed to provide quality childcare throughout the school year for CHCA’s Upper Elementary families. Our program is open on all regular, full school days and is managed by the Upper E office. We provide a safe place where students can build relationships, be creative, achieve homework goals, have fun and more! Students transition between activities, including the cafeteria for a provided snack, library and playground. Students with scheduled activities on the Founders’ Campus (such as music lessons) may sign themselves out to attend their activity with a parent’s written permission.
This is a pre-registered, “pay-to-stay” program.
Before your child can attend, you must:
- Complete online registration to provide emergency contacts, release forms, and health information for our EZ Aide(s).
- Specify a payment source for payments to be automatically withdrawn from your credit card (3% convenience fee added) or checking account. This is where you choose the program option best for your family (REGULAR or AS NEEDED).

Our REGULAR option is designed to be a year-long commitment; however, there is no contract. A parent can discontinue use at the end of any month by emailing Programs@chca-oh.org: Programs@chca-oh.org prior to the 1st school day of the month else the month will be billed at the regular rate. A final billing will be issued the month following the end of the use.
Our purpose is to provide a positive and safe environment for children who need supervision after school. A child can be dismissed at any time for purposely compromising and thus challenging this goal.
Policies
General
- Students must sign in upon arrival and before attending any after school activity.
- A parent or authorized person must enter the UE lobby and call the EZ phone for a student to be dismissed.
- Students are not allowed to use cell phones or personal electronic devices during EZ.
- EZ students DO NOT have access to technology. We no longer allow any devices to be used in after-care with the exception of video games in Buckman Commons. The decision to allow gaming is at the discretion of the Eagle’s Zone Aide and can be revoked by the UE Office should items be damaged or disappear.
- We are only responsible for your student(s) while they are signed into EZ.
Payment
- At 3:30 p.m., any student present, or sent to EZ from carpool, will be charged for the entire day regardless of when your child is signed out.
- Due to the overall value of our program pricing, no adjustments will be made for missed days (school breaks, snow days, unexpected school closings, illness, etc.).
- Eagle’s Zone will be closed the day of the Homecoming Festival, first day of Parent/Teacher Conferences, the day before Thanksgiving Break, and the day before Spring Break.
- Enrollment in the program may be terminated if account is not kept current.
- Please see Late Pick Up Fees for more details.
After-school activities
- We must have your written permission for your child to attend an after-school activity such as private music lesson, tutoring, or club. Email Eagles.Zone@chca-oh.org: Eagles.Zone@chca-oh.org and include start time, location, and if your child will return to EZ following the activity. Without written permission, we cannot dismiss your student to leave EZ.
- For safety, your child must check in with the EZ prior to attending after-school activities. This ensures we know to wait for them to return before closing EZ for the day.
- EZ remains open until 6:00 p.m. only if students are present or expected to return.
- NO EZ students are permitted to walk to EBL for practices. A coach or other designated adult must pick up your student from Founders’ Campus and transport him/her to practice.
- UE students may be released to attend practices at Founders’ Campus provided we have received the proper written documentation. Students will be allowed to change during snack time and released 10 minutes prior to the Founders’ practice. Students must go directly to practice and should not be loitering in hallways.
- Students who leave for athletic practices must be picked up directly from athletic practice.
- Should plans change or an event be cancelled, please email Eagles.Zone@chca-oh.org: Eagles.Zone@chca-oh.org or call the EZ phone if after 3:15 p.m.
