A shared client file can be opened from the Search Client window whether or not you are the owner. Simply select the file and click 
If the file is currently in-use by another shared user, the file will be locked and will show as ‘In Use’. An ‘In Use’ file is locked and cannot be opened until the current user exits the client file.
