The Cash Flow Ledger outlines the income, savings and withdrawals of the clients. Income goals are compared to base income and investment withdrawals to determine if the clients have excesses or deficiencies in cash flow.
Employment
- Total Client – Total pre-retirement Employment Income of the client.
- Total Spouse – Total pre-retirement Employment Income of the spouse/partner.
Personal Assets
- Retirement Plans – The combined total annual savings to RRSP/RRIF and Locked-In investments.
- Tax Savings – The total tax savings from deposits to RRSP/RRIF and Locked-In investments.
- Non-Registered – The combined total annual savings to Non-Registered investments. If ‘Auto Allocate’ in TFSA Data Entry is set to ‘Yes’, some Non-Registered savings may be directed to TFSA savings automatically.
- TFSA – The combined total annual savings to TFSA investments. If ‘Auto Allocate’ in TFSA Data Entry is set to ‘Yes’, some Non-Registered savings may be directed to TFSA savings automatically.
- Principal Residence – The annual payments on the Principle Residence mortgage.
- Recreational Property – The annual payments on the Recreational Property mortgage.
- Investment Property – The annual payments on the Investment Property mortgage.
- Total – The total annual cash flow directed toward investment savings and mortgages. This amount is calculated as the sum of the Retirement Plans, Tax Savings, Non-Registered, TFSA, Principal Residence, Recreational Property and Investment Property columns.
Corporate Assets
- Investments & Securities – The total annual savings to Corporate Investments & Securities.
- Real Estate – The annual payments on the Corporate Owned Real Estate mortgage.
- Total – The total annual cash flow directed towards corporate investment savings and mortgages. This column is calculated as the sum of the Investment & Securities and Real Estate columns.
Base Income: Client and Spouse/Partner
- CPP/QPP Benefits – The annual income received from CPP/QPP.
- OAS Benefits – The annual payments received from Old Age Security. The amount shown in this column is net of withholding taxes.
- Pension Plans – The annual income received from Pension Plans. The amount shown in this column is net of withholding taxes.
- Employment Earnings – The annual income received from Employment Income. The amount shown in this column is net of withholding taxes.
- Other Income – The annual income received from Working In Retirement.
- Total – The total of all base income including CPP/QPP Benefits, OAS Benefits, Pension Plans, Employment Earnings and Other Income.
Investment Withdrawals
- Income Needs – The annual after-tax Retirement Income Needs of the clients.
- Base Income – The total Base Income of the Client and Spouse/Partner.
- Retirement Plans – The total annual RRSP/RRIF and Locked-In Plan withdrawals. The values shown are either the minimum required or the amount needed to meet Retirement Income Needs.
- Non-Registered/TFSA – The total annual Non-Registered and TFSA withdrawals needed to meet Retirement Income Needs.
- Corporate Investments – Annual dividends paid from Corporate Investments & Securities. This will include any RDTOH amounts.
- Lifestyle LOC – Manually entered Monthly LOC entered through Data Entry. Although entered monthly, the annual equivalent is displayed.
- Excess/(Deficiency) – The annual Retirement Income Needs compared to all income sources. This will determine the cash flow excesses or deficiencies each year.
