To start a new client file, click the from the RazorPlan Home Page. There are 3 areas to the New Client window; Advisor, Client and Address.

Client

The Client tab allows you to enter your client’s information such as Name, Date of Birth, Gender and Marital and Retirement status. For more information on each data point, view the Client Information area of Data Entry.

Address

The Address tab allows you to enter your client’s address information and their province of residence for tax purposes. For more information on each data point, view the Address area of Data Entry.

Advisor

The Advisor tab allows you to specify which advisor you will be creating a file for. Depending on your level of access, this area will perform a slightly different function.

Advisor Level: If you are an advisor, your account will be considered the default owner of the client file. You can specify another owner by selecting them from the list of available users, or by typing their email into the Advisor field. Once an owner has been selected, click to set as a new owner. Once the file has been created, the new advisor will own the file but you will retain Sharing permissions.

Assistant Level: If you are an assistant, you will not have the option to own a client file. You must specify an owner by selecting them from the list of available users, or by typing their email into the Advisor field. Once an owner has been selected, click to set as a new owner. Once the file has been created, the new advisor will own the file but you will retain Sharing permissions.
