During the difficult and unprecedented time of school closures as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak, Bright World is actively keeping in touch with our students at home and in host families.

We will be doing this by the means of online Skype/Zoom meetings, webinars and online hangout sessions. Students and parents/carers need to be aware of the following for ensuring online safety during these times.

-Parents should remind their children to be comfortably and properly dressed for online meetings.

-Students should not carry out online meetings in their bedrooms. These meetings should take place in an open, communal area of the house, ideally with a neutral background. Students should sit at desks wherever possible, to protect their posture.

-If students do not follow these guidelines, or Bright World staff feel that the safeguarding of the online chat has been compromised, they will end the call and inform Jenny Rumble, Director of Safeguarding.

-Whilst our students and Bright World Buddies often communicate via Whatsapp for ease, please be reminded that students should not try to contact Bright World staff via any other means of social media.

-In an emergency or in the event of any safeguarding concerns, students and parents can still call the Bright World emergency phone 24/7: 0044 1273 836060.
