One of the primary features of Managed BI is the pivot report. You may recognized this interface as similar to Excel pivot reports.
The pivot report is an interactive template allowing the user to add rows, columns, measures, and filters to the canvas. With each data element added, the report reacts accordingly. The image below shows the basic pivot report with an accompanying graphic.

Sample Pivot Report

Most pivot reporting is performed on precalculated cubes. These cubes provide better performance for the majority of analysis. Occasionally, users require large data sets be extracted (mostly for offline analysis). In these cases, Managed BI recommends the pivot analysis against relational data bases. Both of these data structures are a standard part of the Managed BI data integration pipeline and can be made available according to your licensing.
