Defining Administrators

An Administrator is a resource within the customer organisation who can maintain the ActiveControl configuration and is also able to perform all activities within ActiveControl including approvals, imports and test result entry / approval. Within most organisations, the Administrators are typically either Basis resources or Change & Release Managers.

ActiveControl Administrators are maintained on the [Administrators and Priority Approvers] tab of the Windows GUI configuration screen.

*When the first user logs into the Windows GUI after ActiveControl has been installed and a license key uploaded, they are automatically assigned as an Administrator. Basis Technologies highly recommend adding another couple of other Administrators even at this early stage of the implementation, as it can cause technical issues within the tool if no Administrators are defined in the Windows GUI.
