Preparing Xtra-PC 2.0 for Connecting to Bluetooth Devices

For the best experience with using Bluetooth devices on Xtra-PC, it is highly recommended to install an additional software package called “pulseaudio-module-bluetooth”. To do this, do the following steps:

1. Open a Terminal window: go to the Start menu (the blue X in the lower left corner), then “Accessories,” then “Terminal.”

2. In the Terminal window, run the command: sudo apt update

3. Next, run the command: sudo apt install pulseaudio-module-bluetooth

4. When the installation of “pulseaudio-module-bluetooth” is complete, reboot the computer: go to the Start menu (the blue X in the lower left corner), then “Reboot.”

5. After rebooting Xtra-PC, proceed to “Connecting to a Bluetooth Device.”

After preparing Xtra-PC to connect to Bluetooth devices by following the steps above, you can now view and connect to your Bluetooth devices. To do this, go to the Start menu (the blue X in the lower left corner), then “Local Administration,” then “Bluetooth Manager.” Follow the onscreen instructions to pair your Xtra-PC and Bluetooth devices.

See video below showing Xtra-PC connecting to an external Bluetooth speaker.

Important note: If your computer does not have Bluetooth capabilities, the Bluetooth Manager will not be able to run. Only computers that are Bluetooth enabled, can use Bluetooth Manager. If your computer does not have Bluetooth capabilities, you will see the following window when trying to run Bluetooth Manager:
