If there is no cartridge filter present, proceed to the next step.
- Turn ball valves on either side of the filter to the closed position.
- While holding a bucket under the filter housing, open the filter drain valve to drain the liquid from the filter housing.
- Using the filter collar key or 3/16” hex wrench, loosen the collar that is threaded around the filter housing.
- Slowly pull the lower filter housing away from the upper filter portion.
- If using a reusable stainless steel pleated filter, rinse the filter in cold water and place it back into the filter housing.
- If using a disposable melt-blown filter, discard and replace it with a fresh filter.
- Prepare to reinstall the filter and housing by sliding the collar over the lower housing.
- Using one hand, apply pressure to the housing onto the o-ring and gasket.
- Using the other hand, thread the collar onto the upper filter portion.
- Once hand tight, utilize the tool to tighten the collar and create a positive seal.
- Open the ball valves next to the filter.
