4 of 5: Clean Cartridge Filter

If there is no cartridge filter present, proceed to the next step.

1. Turn ball valves on either side of the filter to the closed position.

2. While holding a bucket under the filter housing, open the filter drain valve to drain the liquid from the filter housing.

3. Using the filter collar key or 3/16” hex wrench, loosen the collar that is threaded around the filter housing.

4. Slowly pull the lower filter housing away from the upper filter portion.

!Be mindful that the filter housing may still contain residual detergent. Always wear PPE in the event that any splashing occurs.

5. If using a reusable stainless steel pleated filter, rinse the filter in cold water and place it back into the filter housing.

6. If using a disposable melt-blown filter, discard and replace it with a fresh filter.

7. Prepare to reinstall the filter and housing by sliding the collar over the lower housing.

8. Using one hand, apply pressure to the housing onto the o-ring and gasket.

9. Using the other hand, thread the collar onto the upper filter portion.

10. Once hand tight, utilize the tool to tighten the collar and create a positive seal.

11. Open the ball valves next to the filter.
