The skin system

Most of our shops use skins to show content, the skin is the ‘frame’ around your content.
This frame can be set using the editor, for instance the logo, tabs, links, content left, center and right and footer can be changed from the editor.

When you use the skin system, it is important to note the following:

  • Your content will be shown within the skin, which may result in unplanned behaviour due to css rules in the skin’s css.
  • You cannot change the skin from within any of the content pages.
    • In 3.0 it is possible to change css rules specific to the skin, because css loaded in the head of the content templates will be loaded after the skin css.
  • Any content templates (productlist, moreinfo, checkout screens) will have their <head> section replaced by the skin.
    • This is not the case in 3.0 and higher shops, there <script> and <style> tags will be included in the head.
  • When a custom layout does not work, please try to upload the file once more before sending an e-mail to our customer support.

If you keep these important rules in mind, you will find you can make the skin and content templates fit together very well.
