• Consumables — Consumable texts include perforated pages or lines for writing. Students may keep these books; they are not returned and reused the following year. Per copyright law, photocopies should not be made of consumable texts or workbooks. Individual copies should be purchased for each student.
  • Non-consumables — Non-consumable books include textbooks and novels that are reused each year. Teachers should check out non-consumables to students using the online Destiny library system. Check with your campus Media Coordinator to borrow a scanner to check out books. At the end of the year, non-consumables should be checked back in using Destiny. Teachers should work with the Media Coordinator to handle fines for lost or damaged books. See instructions. Parents will be charged accordingly.
  • Grades 6-12 will have most of their books online and only class sets available. Students may print out pages as needed from online books, buy on ebay, or check out a class copy when available. See instructions for non-consumables above.
  • School property books must have a book cover. Self-adhesive covers damage books and should not be used. Books with adhesive covers and those using tape will be assessed at full cost for book damages. Book covers should be placed on books the first week of class. At the beginning of the second semester, books should be checked and recovered if needed.
  • When a book is issued, the teacher should indicate the condition of the book inside the book’s front cover. When the book is returned, the teacher should check its condition and list any damage fees on the withdrawal form or appropriate close-of-school forms. Parents will be charged accordingly.
  • Students should check the Lost and Found for missing books. Found materials are displayed regularly and should be checked by all students.
  • AP students may be required to buy supplementary materials like study guides or novels.
