If, after the GID Administrator conducts a thorough search for existing records and the Source of the index/personnel number is Umoja, then you cannot proceed. You will get a hard stop error message:










  • The GID Administrator
    • enters relevant remarks in the comments text box informing the GID Requestor of the existing index/personnel number for the person; and informing the substantive office to proceed with the transaction in Umoja;
    • clicks Save Draft to save remarks.
    • clicks Back to Author to return the request to the GID Requestor.
  • The GID Requestor cancels the request.
