The Software Assurance Policy details which versions of software a Hippotizer can install.
Software Assurance is determined by Feature Release number and time; a Hippotizer system’s Software Assurance will set the number of future Feature Releases that may be installed. New Hippotizer systems include four future Feature Releases beyond the version installed when the system is activated. Feature releases are major updates, e.g. 4.7, 4.8, 4.9. Minor releases within a Feature Release, e.g. 4.7.1, 4.7.2, etc, are free for all users entitled to the respective Feature Release. This means that if 4.5 is the currently released version when a new system is activated, it is entitled to run 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, and 4.9 regardless of their release date.
Installed software will continue to work for the life of the Hippotizer system.
Software Assurance extensions may be purchased from Green Hippo or its dealers or distributors. Software Assurance extensions require a software license created by Green Hippo to be loaded onto the Hippotizer system, once the license has been updated no further action is required; applicable software will install normally.
The provision for Feature Releases was added to Software Assurance as of Hippotizer Version 4.6. It is being back-dated to include all current V4 and V4+ systems.
Software Assurance entitles a Hippotizer system to install and run all released version(s) of Hippotizer software released within the Software Assurance period as established by Feature Release. The timing of software releases and included feature-set are decided solely at Green Hippo’s discretion; Software Assurance in no way obligates Green Hippo to release new software or add specific functionalities.
Each software version is assigned a Feature Release number, for improvement releases the feature release matches it’s parent.
