Software Compatibility
Minimum Software Version
MX Systems must run Hippotizer Version 4.8.5 or greater.
Maximum Software Date
MX Systems can, subject to Software Assurance, install and run software released until November 1st, 2030.
A Note about DisplayPort Adaptors and cables
Perfect compatibility with all DisplayPort devices and accessories can never be guaranteed, as the quality and availability varies widely. Green Hippo has tested many cables, adaptors and displays to determine what works best with Hippotizer systems. The findings show that Active VisionTek, Startech, and Tripplite DisplayPort to HDMI adaptors have proven to be among the most reliable. Always test a specific adaptor before attempting to use it in a production setting.
DisplayPort connections directly from the Hippotizer to a DisplayPort display or signal handling equipment also rely on a good quality cable. Do not exceed the maximum recommended cable length (normally 6ft or 1.8m) especially when working at UHD or 4K resolutions. Use only VESA-certified DP1.2 or DP1.4 cable, a full list of which is available on the Vesa website.
