Prerequisites

Before you install, make sure these prerequisites are met:

• The printer is connected to an active LAN connection.
• The printer has a fixed IP or DHCP reserved IP address.
• The network allows management by Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) v1/v2.
• Enable HTTPS for Lexmark secure access.

!IMPORTANT: Make sure the Celiveo Web Service API is installed to allow the interface with SQL Server. Follow the instructions below to download the API Package to install on the same machine as the one hosting the Web Admin.

Configure Lexmark printer through Embedded Web Server

Follow these instructions to configure the Lexmark printer through Embedded Web Server.

Log in to the printer

1. At the web browser, enter the IP address of the Lexmark printer.
2. On the printer home page, click [Log In].
3. When prompted, enter a valid administrator username and password.

*Note: Ensure that the same login credentials are entered when adding the printer in Celiveo Web Admin.

4. Click [Log In].
   

Configuring the IP address

1. In the left menu, select Settings > Network/Ports > Ethernet.
2. Either enable the Enable DHCP checkbox or set a static IP address by clicking the Set Static IP Address link.
   

Install the API

Lexmark devices require the Celiveo Webservice API to be enabled and installed because they cannot interface with SQL Server directly and as such, need to go through the Celiveo webservice API.
To download and install the Celiveo Webservice API:

1. In the Web Admin, add your Lexmark printer and select it.
   
2. Go to the Settings menu and select DB Settings.
3. Select your database and click Edit.
   
4. Enter the address IP of the machine on which your Web Admin is installed.
5. The URL and Key fields are automatically populated.
6. Click the Download button.
   
7. Open the downloaded zip file and run the CeliveoAPI.exe file.
   
   

Known issues and limitations

• Lexmark devices are only compatible with Keyboard Emulation Badge Readers. Multi-A Multi-B need to be configured in Keyboard Emulation to be able to be used on Lexmark.
• Regional databases are not yet supported by the Celiveo printer agent for Lexmark printers.
• Quota is not available in the current version and will be implemented in the next version.
• Secondary ID Code is not available in the current version and will be implemented in the next version.
• Tracking for Copy and Scan jobs is not available in the current version and will be implemented in the next version.
• Stealth mode is not available.
• Smartcard authentication is not available.
• When the Pull-Print job name includes both 1-byte and non 1-byte characters together, the job name ends with a corrupted character.
• The following features are currently unavailable:
  • Dual-Credential
  • Zero-Config
  • UniDriver
