How do I update the firmware on my TimeMachine?
- Download the current firmware above (if you encounter problems, please follow these instructions and use the previous version).
- Ensure reader is turned off
- Connect reader ‘s micro USB socket to your computer using a micro USB cable
- Hold down the Tune button and turn the reader on
- Ensure reader display says “Trident USB Bootloader”
- Using Windows explorer, browse to the detected disk drive called “Trident BL”
- Delete any existing file from this disk, usually called “firmware.bin”
- Copy the new firmware file to this disk
- Use Windows “Safely Remove Hardware…” icon to eject the “Trident Bootloader” device
- Unplug the micro USB cable from the reader
- Power off the reader, then power on again
- Ensure the new firmware version is displayed at the top of the reader screen
