Projects Integration

Projects created in Project Operations can now be seamlessly integrated with Business Central. The standard functionality of Project creation in D365 Project Operations is synchronized with Business Central through the Dataverse Connection setup.

Any changes (creation, modification, update, deletion) made to projects in Project Operations will automatically synchronize with Business Central

A new ‘Company’ field has been introduced on the project details form, which shows the company details that are linked to the Contracting Unit (Organisational unit).

Projects > Projects > Project details

Fields Description
Company
  • Non-Editable field
  • Mandatory field
  • Will be populated based on Contracting unit when the project is saved

New validation added to the Customer field on the project. Requires the customer to belong to the same company as the project when added as a customer upon project creation or modification. Prevents saving the project and throws an error if a customer from a different company is selected.

Project Dimension code in Business Central

In this enhancement, we have added a default dimension code for projects in Business Central.
This allows to set default dimensions for the project which is mapped to the Project ID of the Project created in Project Operations.

Finance Setup (Navigation Menu) > General Ledger Setup > Projects & Operations (section) > Dimensions

Once successfully integrated into Business Central, the Project will create a new dimension value under the Project dimension.

Projects (Navigation menu) > Business Central > BC Projects > Related > Dimensions > Dimensions-Single.
