Customer Status

A new enhancement is added to ensure seamless Integration of Customers from ProjOps to Business Central. This enhancement was introduced as a way of determining the Status of a Customer in Business Central which will influence Project Contract and Project creation in ProjOps.

It suggests that once a Customer is ‘Coupled’ in the BC Customers table, the status of the Customer can be set as “Open” after filling all the Mandatory fields required for setting the Customer status as Open post which the Customer can be used for creation of Project Contract and Projects.

A new field called ‘BC Status’ is added in ProjOps Customer form which has pending as the default Status once the Customer is created and saved in ProjOps.

Set the Status of Customer as ‘Open’ in Business Central

Subsequently, once the Customer is integrated with Business Central via dataverse and is marked as ‘Coupled’ in BC Customer table. A new menu called ‘Customer Mandatory fields’ is added under BC Customers.

It displays various fields which are mandatory for setting the status of the Customer as Open

Fields and Descriptions

Field Description
Field Id Indicates the Id of the field
Field Caption Indicates the name of the field
Enabled Checkbox field
It can be edited.
If set to Enabled, the fields become mandatory for setting the status of the Customer as Open.

A new field called CDS Status is available on the Customer form in Business Central which specifies the status of the Customer
Users can enter all the mandatory fields and manually set the Status of the Customer in Business Central which will be integrated to Project Operations and determine the Project as well as Project Contract creation.

CDS Status Fields and Descriptions

Field Description
CDS Status Display field
Indicates the Status of the Customer
Set Pending Indicates that certain necessary fields are yet to be filled for a Customer.
If set as Pending, the customer cannot be used for Project Contract and Project creation.
Set Open Indicates all the necessary fields are filled.
The Customer can be used for Project Contract and Project creation.
Set On Hold Indicates that the status of the Customer is On Hold.
Implies: The customer cannot be used for Project Contract and Project creation.

Once the Status of the Customer is set as ‘Open’, synchronisation takes place which ensures data update from Business Central to Project Operations simultaneously setting the status of the Customer as Open in Project Operations as well.
