4. Master Data Templates
This functionality is introduced to further improve easy and automatic integration of Customer and Vendor data from Project Operations with Business Central.
4.1 Master Data Templates
Using standard functionality in Business Central, users can create multiple templates for Customers and/or Vendors. These templates can include default values, which are automatically applied to the customer/vendor card once created and a template is selected.
Templates created in Business Central are automatically integrated with Project Operations by running a scheduled batch job.
In the Customer/Vendor list, all integrated templates are marked with “Coupled to Dataverse” = Yes.
4.2 Creating Customers/Vendors in Project Operations
A new setup has been added to the evergreen configuration in Project Operations.
Navigation: Settings > evergreen parameters > BC Integration > Account Template mandatory
- If this toggle is set to “Yes”, it makes template selection mandatory when creating new Customers or Vendors in Project Operations.
- Business Central company – only templates for the selected company will be shown
- Account type – depending on whether it’s a Customer or Vendor
4.3 Business Central Integration Mapping
The standard setup in Business Central has been enhanced to allow users to define which account values should be integrated directly from Project Operations, and which values should come from templates.
- Fields can be enabled or disabled to control the source of data.
- If a field is enabled, it will synchronize between Project Operations and Business Central.
- If disabled, the data is either part of the selected template or manually populated in both systems.
