Once installation is complete, Orchid Fusion VMS is configured with one (Fusion) administrator user by default; this user is created during installation and cannot be removed. Additional users for Orchid Fusion VMS can be created with varying levels of privileges through the Users option in Orchid Fusion VMS’s System Menu.

Beginning with Orchid Fusion VMS version 2.0.0, permissions for Fusion users are handled using a combination of the Users and the Permission Groups features. Any Fusion user that is configured in the system will be able to sign into Orchid Fusion VMS. The user will not have access to any cameras or video, however, until the Administrator assigns them as a member of one or more Permission Groups. (Please refer to the Permission Groups section for details regarding planning and creating Permission Groups.)

Orchid Fusion VMS provides the Administrator with the ability to manage Orchid Core VMS users as well. Permissions for these users are still handled using four basic roles: Administrator, Manager, Viewer, and Live Viewer. Orchid Core VMS users are handled as part of Orchid server management. Please refer to The Users Tab section for details.
