8.5.20. Tutoring

Teachers should not tutor (for payment) any student whom they teach. This creates a conflict of interest and can put the teacher in a compromised situation (see Conflict of Interest). Outside tutors should be approved by the appropriate campus principal and background checked prior to tutoring at GRACE. The parent is responsible for contacting the Administrative Assistant in order to obtain the background check and covering the cost of the background check.

Teachers who are tutoring for profit should not begin until after 3:45 pm. As is the case in all situations regarding student/teacher interaction, the tutoring should take place in a location that provides visibility.
