EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ACTIONS

VOTED EC 24.09.01
The Committee voted via e-mail to open a 7-month certificate of deposit with the Mission Investment Fund. Motion carried with no dissenting votes.
VOTED EC 24.09.02
The Committee voted via e-mail to authorize James “Jim” Nichols (treasurer) and Matthew L. Riegel (bishop) as MIF signatories. Motion carried with no dissenting votes.
VOTED EC 24.09.03
The Committee voted via e-mail to authorize the DEM to make a good faith offer of up to $23,641.26 from the funds restricted for Evangelistic and Ministerial Opportunities for a purchase of services offer and other related expenses for a mission redeveloper on the Mountaintop. Motion carried with no dissenting votes.
VOTED EC 24.09.04
The Committee voted via e-mail to approve the edits to the Synod Council Handbook as presented concerning conducting a meeting using RONR (12th ed) for procedures for small boards. Motion carried with no dissenting votes.
VOTED EC 25.01.01
The Committee voted to appoint Mark Thompson (St. Paul, New Haven) to the Laity-OKVC seat on Nominating Committee.
VOTED EC 25.01.02
The Committee voted to direct the treasurer to invest the Weirick bequest in a 5-month CD purchased from Huntington Bank.
VOTED EC 25.01.03
The Committee voted to appoint a select committee to include Tom Darr (chair), Jim Nichols, Brian Crawford, and Brian Felici to address the preparation of a budget for FY2026-2027, to review the current financial position of the synod, to curate the record of special gifts that have been received by the synod, and to advise on an investment policy.
VOTED EC 25.01.04
The Committee voted to remove Paul Wangerin and appoint the vice president of Synod Council as an Ex Officio member of the Synod Mutual Ministry Committee.
VOTED EC 25.01.05
The Committee voted to remove Paul Wangerin and appoint Tom Darr to the Synod Audit Committee.
VOTED EC 25.01.06
The Committee voted to remove Laurel Muhly-Alexander and Brian Crawford while appointing Daniel Collins, Michelle Erfurt, and [FFA guy from Franklin] to the Bylaws Committee.
VOTED EC 25.01.07
The Committee voted to appoint a select committee to include Rick Losh (chair), Pat Schillings, Paul Schafer, Nancy Weeks, and Linda Muhly. The task of the committee is for information gathering concerning a one-day or two-day Synod Assembly. The committee will report its findings to the Executive Committee.
VOTED EC 25.01.08
The Committee voted to delay action on a Synod Council meeting with the Potomac Highlands Conference until Bishop Riegel is able to gather more information on the conferences intended participation.
